Materials from Rikuzentakata Earthquake Archive are now available

The Rikuzentakata Earthquake Archive, which had been in coordination with the National Diet Library Great East Japan Earthquake Archive (Nickname: HINAGIKU). was closed on November 30th, 2014.

Rikuzentakata Earthquake Archive was closed.

 

Due to the closure of the Rikuzentakata Earthquake Archive, the National Diet Library has received permission to provide the materials via HINAGIKU from 7 groups and 11 people out of the copyright holders who had provided their content via the Rikuzentakata Earthquake Archive.

Materials which completed preparation have already begun provided via HINAGIKU. From now on, all of the subject material will be available.

 

The main materials are as follows:

 

・Otsuchi Town Waterworks Office
Includes photographs of waterworks restoration work conducted in Otsuchi Town, Iwate prefecture, after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
 
・Takata Driving School
Includes photographs of Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, after the Great East Japan Earthquake. There are aerial photographs and photographs of Rikuzentakata Driving School, which became the base of supplies assistance and reconstruction activities.
 
・Tohkai Shimpo (Tohkai Shimpo Co.,)
The Tohkai Shimpo is a newspaper published by the Tohkai Shimpo Co., headquartered in Rikuzentakata, Iwate. Newspaper of the following period are included.
 (a)All pages from March 1st, 2011, (Vol.15976) to June 30th, 2011 (Vol. 16079).
 (b)Articles which have been accepted in the Rikuzentakata Earthquake Archive and their pages from March 1st, 2011, to June 12th, 2011, and from July 8th, 2011, to July 28th, 2011.

・Architect Partnership in Morioka
Includes photographs of landscape of Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture, before the Great East Japan Earthquake.
 
・Yu Keikaku Jimusyo (Only on the premises of the National Diet Library)
Includes photographs of the landscape of Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture, taken in August 8th, 2003, before the Great East Japan Earthquake.
