The National Diet Library Great East Japan Earthquake Archive uses the following system, to attach location data (latitude, longitude) or address data (including prefecture and municipality) to metadata and to display locations for categories.

A latitude and longitude can be obtained for metadata containing prefecture, municipality, or other address data using the jageocoder. Address data can be obtained for metadata containing a latitude and longitude using the jageocoder.
