International Symposium on the Great East Japan Earthquake Archive FY 2019: "Facilities and archives commemorating the disaster" (held on January 11, 2020)

The National Diet Library (NDL) and the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) of Tohoku University will hold the International Symposium on the Great East Japan Earthquake Archive. First, a special lecture will introduce the efforts of the Pacific Tsunami Museum in Hawaii as an overseas example of an earthquake disaster facility. Second, as examples from Japan, we will report on the current situation of earthquake archives and earthquake disaster facilities throughout the country, including the National Diet Library Great East Japan Earthquake Archive (Hinagiku). Last, we will discuss how earthquake archives and earthquake disaster facilities can build relationships to increase their utilization.
